Mahesh Babu Invests In Shortgun Games As Indian Gaming Studio Targets Global Markets

From the big screen to the gaming world! Actor Mahesh Babu has acquired a minority stake in Mumbai-based gaming startup Shortgun Games for an undisclosed amount, marking his entry into India's video game development ecosystem. The investment follows the studio's $1 million seed funding round in 2025.

Shortgun Games is developing its flagship title, Project Takedown, an action-adventure game set in a near-future Mumbai. Planned for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the 10–15-hour game is targeting international audiences, with a potential release by the end of 2028.
