Biomoneta Develops Patented Technology To Destroy 99.999% Of Airborne Pathogens

Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup Biomoneta is advancing healthcare air safety through its patented ZeBox technology, designed to actively eliminate airborne microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses and fungi.

The technology uses a specialised electric-field-based mechanism to disrupt microbial cell membranes, achieving over 99.999% destruction of targeted airborne microorganisms under reported test conditions. Unlike conventional filtration systems, ZeBox is designed for continuous operation without disposable filters or UV lamps.

Founded by Janani Venkatraman, Santanu Datta and Arindam Ghatak, the Bengaluru-based company combines expertise in biotechnology, infectious disease research and engineering to develop indigenous air-decontamination solutions. The company has secured 11 granted patents and received US FDA 510(k) clearance for its Avata Rx medical air-decontamination device. Its solutions are being deployed across healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical cleanrooms and research laboratories in India.
