Ashutosh Gupta, who recently concluded a decade-long stint at LinkedIn, has announced his new role as an operating partner and head of GTM CoE at Avataar Venture Partners.
Gupta officially joined Avataar Venture Partners in May following a brief career hiatus, marking his debut in the venture capital sector despite a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades. His tenure at LinkedIn, where he played a pivotal role in achieving milestones such as exceeding 100 million users and launching the Hindi language version, underscores his strategic acumen and leadership capabilities.
Prior to LinkedIn, Gupta served as the head of industry and technology services at Google for two years, adding to his diverse portfolio that includes senior roles at ICICI Securities, Infosys, and Cognizant.
Founded in 2019 by Nishant Rao, Avataar Venture Partners specializes in backing Indian startups with substantial annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeding USD 15 million. The firm has made significant investments in prominent ventures such as RateGain, Amagi, and InsuranceDekho, with a recent notable involvement in a USD 45 million Series D funding round for SaaS startup Capillary in 2023.
