Nalwa Aero Wins National Award for Its Innovative Box-Wing Electric Aircraft Research

Indian aerospace startup Nalwa Aero, founded by Kuljeet Singh Sandhu, has won the Best Paper Award at the 39th National Convention of Aerospace Engineering (NCAE 2026) for its research on a Prandtl-plane box-wing configuration for advanced air mobility. The research explores an innovative aircraft design that connects the front and rear wings to improve aerodynamic performance and support next-generation electric aviation.

The startup is developing electric aircraft technology using a combination of box-wing aerodynamics and electric propulsion. Its scaled prototype has demonstrated hovering and forward flight, marking progress in its aircraft development journey.
