Aerolaunch India Sends CarzSpa’s Paint Protection Film 21 Km Into Near Space

An Indian car-care brand has sent a miniature car bonnet 21 km above Earth. On 1 November, startup Aerolaunch India launched a high-altitude balloon from Krishnasamy College of Arts and Science in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, carrying a mini car hood coated with CarzSpa’s Aegis XG paint protection film. The launch was part of CarzSpa’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

According to the companies, the film showed no visible change after the flight through freezing temperatures and intense UV radiation. The payload also carried sensors from Space Technology and Aeronautical Rocketry (STAR) to track UV levels at different heights. Aerolaunch India, founded in 2021 by HemPrasath and Shree Ranganathan, builds custom payloads for high-altitude experiments.
