India’s space-tech ambitions are moving beyond launching satellites to servicing them in orbit. Hyderabad-based Cosmoserve Space has unveiled Base 1, a facility designed to simulate space vision effects and microgravity conditions for developing technologies such as space debris removal, satellite repairs and in-orbit refuelling.
The startup also announced a $6 million seed funding round, taking its total funding to over $9 million. With its first payload already flown aboard Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1 rocket in July 2026, Cosmoserve is targeting its next technology demonstration by mid-2027 and its first commercial mission in early 2028.
