Tata Motors’ iRA Apps Face CERT-In High-Severity Security Warning Over Four Vulnerabilities

Connected car technology brings convenience, but it also raises the stakes for digital security. CERT-In has flagged four high-severity vulnerabilities in older versions of Tata Motors’ iRA 2.0 and iRA.ev apps, citing risks involving credential theft, user impersonation and unauthorised access to connected vehicle services.

Tata Motors says it found no evidence of customer data compromise and has already rolled out mandatory security updates. Users have been advised to upgrade to iRA 2.0 version 26.8.2 and iRA.ev version 26.9.1. The alert highlights why timely software updates are essential as connected vehicles become increasingly dependent on mobile apps and cloud-based systems.
