Sachin Tendulkar Takes Significant Minority Stake in Hitwicket Maker Metasports Interactive

Sachin Tendulkar has acquired a significant minority stake in Hyderabad-based Metasports Interactive, the company behind mobile cricket strategy game Hitwicket. Founded in 2020 by Kashyap Reddy and Keerti Singh, the company has built a player base of more than 20 million across 120+ countries. Tendulkar will also serve as the game's brand ambassador and feature as a playable character, bringing his cricketing experience into the gaming experience.

Metasports is targeting 100 million downloads for Hitwicket over the next three years as it looks to expand its global reach. The company reported that the game's revenue doubled in the six months leading up to the announcement, with players spending an average of 51 minutes per day on the platform. The financial details of Tendulkar's investment have not been disclosed. The development marks a notable partnership between one of cricket's most recognised figures and an Indian gaming company with global ambitions.
