Firstwork (YC S24), an AI-powered HR technology startup co-founded by former Deel executives Vardhan Kapoor and Shubham Choudhary, has raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Earlybird Venture Capital. The round also included Legion VC and Deel Ventures, alongside existing investors Gradient and Y Combinator.

The company develops AI agents that help employers manage hiring paperwork and onboarding for frontline workers, including document verification and background checks. The fresh funding will support expansion of its AI, engineering and sales teams as Firstwork grows across the US and Europe. Although headquartered in San Francisco, the company has a substantial team in Bengaluru.
