India’s science-led skincare space is attracting fresh founder-led investment.
CHOSEN by Dermatology, a Chennai-based dermocosmetic brand founded by dermatologist Dr Renita Rajan, has extended its Series A funding round with investment from Avnish Chhabria and Saurabh Kapoor, the founders of Wellbeing Nutrition. The fresh capital will support research and development, expand the brand’s product pipeline across skincare formulations and nutraceuticals, and help establish a Centre of Excellence focused on dermatological research.
Founded in 2020, CHOSEN develops products for melanin-rich Indian skin, addressing concerns such as pigmentation, skin texture, facial contour and hair ageing. The investment follows its $5 million Series A round announced in May 2026, led by Fireside Ventures, with participation from L’Oréal’s BOLD and other investors. The latest backing highlights continued interest in specialized, research-driven Indian consumer brands.
