Hyderabad-based TENSRAI wants to make existing machines autonomous through retrofitting. The Physical AI startup has raised ₹3.4 crore in a pre-seed round from India Accelerator, Finvolve, Hyderabad Angels and other angel investors. It is developing a retrofittable autonomy platform that lets industrial and commercial robots, vehicles and machines perform physical tasks with limited human intervention, targeting uses such as material handling and cleaning in factories, warehouses, airports, hospitals and shopping malls.

The company says the funds will go toward technology development, engineering and deployment capabilities, and expansion into domestic and international markets. It plans to earn revenue from robot sales, autonomy retrofitting and Robot-as-a-Service. Tensrai was co-founded by Sai Nikhil Rao Gona, Venkata Sai Charan Chalamalasetty, Harshith Uppalapati and Vivek Datta.
