Indian-founded Mochatrade has raised $5.5 million (about ₹52.3 crore) in a seed round led by CoinFund, with participation from Coinbase Ventures and Zero Knowledge Ventures. Earlier backers include Y Combinator and Pioneer Fund. Founded in 2026 by Utkarsh Sinha, @Parth Maheshwari and Chetan Manda, the Bengaluru- and New York-based startup lets Indian users fund accounts through UPI, hold rupee balances and access perpetual futures contracts linked to US stocks, indices and commodities.
The company says the new funds will go toward its trading engine and risk infrastructure, and toward expanding its reach among active Indian traders. It also plans to introduce contracts linked to select pre-IPO companies, US stock options and social trading features, subject to applicable laws and regulatory approvals.
