Indian spacetech is going after US federal contracts. Bengaluru-based Pixxel has established Pixxel Federal, a US subsidiary that will deliver Earth observation technology, satellite mission systems and geospatial intelligence to federal customers across civilian, defence and intelligence agencies. The company announced it on 29 October. The subsidiary will build on Pixxel’s existing work with NASA and the National Reconnaissance Office, and it plans an office in the Washington, D.C. area.
Allyson Jenkins, previously Pixxel’s Vice President for Public Sector, will lead Pixxel Federal as CEO. The move follows Pixxel’s $100 million Series C round, co-led by Temasek and Seraphim, which brought its total funding to $195 million.
